NOTICE: HAPS in-person groups and classes are beginning to reopen with precautionary measures in place. We continue to monitor the local COVID-19 situation and have implemented protocol that we feel is in the best interest of our participants, instructors, volunteers, and donated facilities. All participants must register or re-register and be pre-enrolled in order to attend in-person sessions. Contact the HAPS office for details. Stay connected to HAPS by checking our calendar of events or checking our Facebook page for the latest updates.

Inspired by the research done at Washington University School of Medicine, which focused on the benefits of tango for individuals with Parkinson's disease, HAPS conducted its own pilot project with a weekly tango class in Fall 2008. The project was so successful that HAPS continued the tango class as an ongoing HAPS program.

A partner or previous dance experience is not required. To find out more about the HAPS tango class, click here to read the full article written by HAPS tango instructor, Joan Bishop. For more information about class locations and schedule, contact Angelica Rodriguez at 713.313.1652. THIS CLASS IS CURRENTLY ON HOLD DUE TO THE ONGOING COVID SITUATION.

"It's not too late in life to learn tango - never too late to nourish the soul."

- Bob James, HAPS tango student
