Houston Area Parkinson Society offers an educational program developed specifically for those who have been recently diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. The four-hour program is designed as a "Parkinson's 101" course for individuals who have been diagnosed within the past three years and their family members or friends who want to learn more about the disease.
The program is presented by a local neurologist and HAPS Medical Advisory Board member. The small group of 30-35 participants provides an intimate learning environment and allows plenty of time for questions and answers.
The program is free of charge and includes breakfast, lunch, and plenty of educational materials.
Participants can attend as many sessions as needed within three years of their diagnosis.
See the information below for details on the upcoming sessions in 2018. Pre-registration is required.
