HAPS Superhero Squad is back for the 22nd consecutive year as an offical Run for a Reason charity in the 2018 Chevron Houston Marathon which will take place January 13th and 14th. Last year, HAPS gathered a team of nearly 150 walkers on Saturday for the ABB 5K event and over 40 runners on Sunday for the half and full marathon events to raise awareness for Parkinson's disease and to generate valuable funding for HAPS. This year, our goal is to have even more walkers and runners and raise $115,000 to fund programs and services in our area for those living with the disease. HAPS was proud to be awarded with Top Fundraising Team and 3rd Place Overall Top Fundraising Charity honors last year - so we have big footsteps to follow in this year!

There are many ways you can get involved:

Join the HAPS Superhero Squad for Houston's Most Important Race Weekend: Saturday, January 13, 2018 - ABB 5K Fun Run/Walk and Sunday, January 14, 2018 - Chevron Houston Marathon and Aramco Houston Half Marathon.

Saturday's ABB 5K Fun Run/Walk is an easy way to join TEAM HAPS! Superheroes of all ages and abilities can participate on Saturday morning. Last year nearly 150 people turned out to help raise awareness and support of Parkinson's disease and the work HAPS does. If you would like to participate, you must register with the Marathon by clicking here. Once you have officially registered with the Marathon contact the HAPS office so that we can get your information and keep you up to date about exciting events and giveaways planned for this year! 5K participants will receive this year's superhero t-shirt and cape (you provide the tights...)

RUNNERS looking for an entry into either the Aramco Houston Half Marathon or the Chevron Houston Marathon, HAPS has entries! Through the Fundraising for Registration Program, runners can fundraise their way to a guaranteed race entry. Participants must pay the race registration fee and raise a minimum of $500. Runners get dri-fit shirts, capes and lots of fundraising incentives. Contact the HAPS office for additional details.

Fundraising:

Whether or not you are planning on hitting the course this season, you can still be a HERO as a fundraiser by clicking here to set up your fundraising page. Once your page is created you can send that link out to all your friends, family and co-workers. Tell your story and help HAPS raise necessary funding - all of which stays in the local community to support those living with Parkinson's in our community. Free superhero shirts, capes, prize bags and fun incentives are just some of the perks to helping us meet our $115,000 goal.

Corporate Support:

Sidewalk Squad support opportunities are available from levels starting at $2,500 - $10,000. These packages give big and small businesses huge, world-wide visibility with the Marathon in addition to supporting a great cause. As a 2018 Sidewalk Squad Corporate Partner, companies will be recognized as a prominent supporter of the Run for a Reason program through a variety of advertising, marketing and networking benefits that will be activated before, during and after race weekend. By contributing a tax-deductible donation to an official Run for a Reason charity, your company’s name and logo will appear on the race course, at the pre-event EXPO, on the event website and more. All opportunities include a limited amount of race entries. Contact the HAPS office for more information on these and other corporate sponsorship opportunities.

HAPS is super excited to be a part of this great event and hope you will join forces with us. walk. run. cheer. raise awareness. make a difference. be a hero.
