LATEST HAPS NEWS
On behalf of Houston Area Parkinson Society, we invite you to participate as an underwriter of the 2019 Annual Gala, Shaken not Stirred. The event will be held at The Astorian on Sunday, October 13th at 6 pm and will include dinner, drinks, and music. We hope you will be part of this festive evening as we recognize the extraordinary work that is taking place within the Parkinson’s community in Houston.
Your support of this event will raise essential funds for the specialized programs HAPS offers. Because people can live for many years with the progressive symptoms associated with Parkinson’s, the services the organization makes available free of charge are fundamental to long-term successful management of the disease.
Enrollment in the fall PD SELF Program is now open - register now...
PD SELF Houston is now registering newly diagnosed individuals and thei care partners for the fall session scheduled to begin in October.
PD SELF (Self-Efficacy Learning Forum) is a national initiative that offers an innovative approach to Parkinson’s disease management. It is based on the psychosocial theory of self-efficacy which is the confidence a person has in his or her ability to influence an outcome or be successful in achieving a result. MISSION & PURPOSE
By using a whole-human approach to community building, we reduce the fear and isolation associated with a Parkinson’s diagnosis.
We exist to ensure that no one faces a Parkinson’s diagnosis alone.
