The mission of the Houston Area Parkinson Society is to improve the quality of life for those affected by Parkinson's disease through services, education and advocacy.
HAPS partners with Sheltering Arms Senior Services and Home Instead Senior Care to provide trained aides to assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, feeding, toileting, etc.) for the individual with Parkinson's disease and to give caregivers the benefit of a few personal hours of respite.
This assistance can be provided on a sliding scale if the following criteria are met:
Diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease is required
Income levels must not exceed 250% of the current Federal Poverty Guidelines
Client must agree be financially responsible for their portion of the charges
