Newly Diagnosed Education Program

Houston Area Parkinson Society offers a quarterly educational program developed specifically for those who have been recently diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. The four hour program is designed as a "Parkinson's 101" course for individuals who have been diagnosed within the past three years and their family members or friends who want to learn more about the disease. The program is presented by a local neurologist and HAPS Medical Advisory Board member. The small group of 10-15 participants provides an intimate learning environment and allows plenty of time for questions and answers. The program, sponsored by Teva Neuroscience, is free of charge and includes breakfast, lunch and plenty of educational materials. Participants can attend as many sessions as needed within three years of their diagnosis.
