To be eligible for transportation services the individual must meet the following criteria:

• Have a diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease
• Does not drive her/him self or has been given restrictions on their driving
• Lives out of the Metro Lift service area or does not qualify for Metro Lift 
• Resides within the approved transportation service area as defined by the current transportation grant. At this time HAPS can only schedule rides in Harris, Ft. Bend and parts of Brazoria Counties

Any individual determined eligible as defined by the criteria may use the transportation service for the following purposes:

• HAPS exercise/support groups
• Up to two Parkinson's related physician’s appointment per month

All new riders are required to provide the information requested by Harris County RIDES program in order to comply with grant requirements.

All rides are coordinated though a contract developed with the American Red Cross Transportation Department. Vehicles with special equipment are used to accommodate those with special needs.

All rides must be scheduled 48 hours prior to appointment date.

All new rides and changes to existing rides must be made through the HAPS office.
